Archie Macmillan: Year 7

Archie joined Highbury Grove School in September 2014 and immediately let the music department know that he wanted to join the Music Specialist School and follow in the footsteps of his big brother who plays the Oboe.  Not be hidden in the shadows, Archie chose a different instrument from his brother, the French Horn, and set about working diligently to quickly learn the basics of the instrument.  He is about to sit his Grade 1 exam, which is a remarkable feat for a young man who has only been playing a matter of months.  He is a member of the school’s Engage Orchestra and has aspirations to make it into the Junior Orchestra so he can go on tour overseas with the school.  He has been playing the piano since he was 8 years of age and has natural musicality that indicates his ambition of joining the Junior Orchestra may become a reality sooner then he thinks.
